Spring 2012 Group/Performance Classes

Cost: $10 per person for each class. This is not included in private lesson tuition.
Length: 45 min - 1 hour
The class will be open, spontaneous and informal in nature. Students will be encouraged to ask any questions they have about string playing, their instruments, concerts they have seen etc.
The main functions of the class will be:
1) A review of technique and how to practice.
2) It will serve as a group class for elementary school students. Students can review the pieces they know and perform with their friends. I , along with the older students can play with them and serve as mentors.
3) It will act as an informal masterclass; it will be a chance for those with prepared solo material to perform - even if it is a small section of the piece.
4) It will serve as a potential venue for chamber music. Students can play chamber music with each other and with me. We will play prepared pieces and sight read for fun.
5) It will act as an introduction to string playing for the younger children who are younger that 6 and not yet ready for lessons. They will be able to observe, ask questions, and interact with the other students.
